# LP-073 historical mathematical note

LP-073 governed the pre-2295 rate era. Its enacted phrase “exact halving cascade” is preserved verbatim in the historical statute. Mathematically, 70 to 35 is exact; 35 to 17 and 17 to 8 are rounded downward integer steps. Those enacted values remain part of rate history, but LP-073 was fully superseded as operative rate law when both LP-074 schedules certified and the exact 50 / 25 / 12.5 / 6.25 cascade took effect in 2295.
